Busy as a Bee

Jamie was gone for the last 10 days to the Canadian Armature Boxing Championships. He didn't win the title, but he fought really well and has a chance to go to "box-offs" and make the National B Team, so I am really proud of him (as I usually am!). To welcome him home, I designed this poster of him, and had it blown up and hung on the wall.

I'm very please with how it turned out. One of my first photoshop successes!

It was also a busy week for me. Part of my New Years resolution was to take better care of ME, and in doing that, I needed to take better care of the house, get organized and feel "home" in our house. So I was busy busy busy, cleaning, de-cluttering, organizing, assembling new furniture, and oh ya, tiling the last of the back splash in the kitchen!

I will be posting pictures of my progress soon! Jamie was really happy with what I got done while he was away (it was all a surprise) and I'm sure he is wanting to go away again soon so I will continue with my work! lol

Hope

As I sit here watching the Inaugurating of the New President of the United States, I can't help but be filled with hope.

I'm so please that Donovan will grow up, with a man like Barack Obama in office!

So proud to be a citizen of the WORLD today.

On the Road Again...

Lots going on around here as usual, never a dull moment in the Taylor house!

This weekend we are up in Lethbridge as Jamie is coaching some of the young guys in his boxing club. We were at the fights this afternoon, and Jamie's fighter won with a first round TKO, so that's a great start to things.

But the big news around here is that Jamie is leaving for Nationals next Friday! There was a GREAT write up in the paper about his come back, you can find it here. In the actually paper there is a half page picture of him and everything. I couldn't be more proud of him. He's been training really hard for a really long time, and I hope he does well.

Although Donovan and I normally go with on his boxing trips, this one we will stay behind. It's just going to be too much travel, for too short of a trip, plus the added price of renting a car, because there isn't an airport in the town he is fighting in, so we would have to drive about an hour and a half from Montreal to get there. But we will be cheering him from home as loud as we can!

As I type this (in the dark) Donovan is napping in his playpen about 10feet from me. You know he is tired when I put him down for a nap in the same room as me, and he falls asleep in less then 5mins!

Hope you all are having a great start to the new year!
